CBD oil, one of the best natural painkillers for dogs
And last, but not least, is CBD oil! Quite powerful and one of the most effective natural pain treatments.
Here’s how to calculate a safe and effective dosage for your dog. First, you need to calculate approximately how many milligrams (mg) of CBD your dog should have based on his weight. A safe rule of thumb is 0.5mg of CBD per pound. So if your dog weighs 10kg, you would give him 5mg of CBD.
You should calculate how much oil to give your dog based on the number of milligrams (mg) of CBD in each milliliter (ml) of oil. This will depend on the potency of the formula you are using.
Here are some common formula potencies and the amount of CBD in each (based on a 30ml bottle):
75mg = 2.5mg CBD per ml oil
150mg = 5mg CBD per ml oil
300mg = 10mg CBD per ml oil
600mg = 20mg CBD per ml oil
So for a 10kg dog that needs 5mg of CBD, you would give him 2ml of the 75mg formula, 1ml of the 150mg formula, 0.5ml of the 300mg formula. We do not recommend using the 600mg formula on small dogs due to the difficulty of administering 0.25ml with the oral syringe provided by most companies.
Hope this gives you some ideas of different natural remedies to try, to help Fido stay happy, healthy, and side effect free!
